Even if you have the right size, the settings may be off. One of the biggest problems with taking a softener from one loaction to another is that you have the WRNG unit for the water you are treating. I don't know anything on how to set this thing to run efficiently for me. is that the only literature available for the 60? What is the best type of salt to use in it? and how much water/salt should be in the brine tank to start Where should i set the cycle dial to start, what steps do i go through to ensure it starts and runs correctly. This unit sat for probably 6-8 months on bypass( his wife hated the 'feeling' of the soft water) is there some sort of cleaning/sanitizing process i should run through prior to putting it into use? Its about 7 years old and he said i could just have it, so i took it : )įirst thing, i want to replace all the O rings, i took one up to the local ace hardware and couldn't find and exact match, are these metric or standard? Is the an exact size i should look for? Just picked up a Model 60 from a friend who was moving and wasn't going to be able to take it with him.
